Privacy Policy

NotebookTools is an independent Chrome extension that helps you import content into your Google NotebookLM account — including YouTube videos, ChatGPT and Gemini conversations, X (Twitter) posts, webpage URLs, and text you highlight on the web.

What we collect

NotebookTools does not operate a backend server and does not collect analytics.

• The extension reads page content only when you choose to import.
• The extension may store lightweight preferences locally in Chrome storage on your device.
• Notebook list data is fetched from NotebookLM using your existing signed-in Google session.

What we send

When you click import, the extension sends the relevant source data to NotebookLM through Google's NotebookLM web APIs, using the same browser session you already use at notebooklm.google.com. This may include YouTube URLs, webpage URLs, extracted conversation or post text, and text you selected on a page.

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not receive your Google password.
• We do not upload content unless you explicitly trigger an import.
• We do not run analytics or tracking on our own servers.

Third-party services

YouTube, ChatGPT, Gemini, X, and NotebookLM are operated by their respective providers. Your use of those services is subject to their terms and privacy policies. NotebookTools is not affiliated with Google or any of these platforms.
